Shaded walls of gray I see
reflections of an empty me
the knight without a sharpened sword
He walks the ship at sea abroad..
A caged leopard with dull spots
a sunny day that is not hot
A light that shines upon a face
blindness shows no man grace
An empty mind that’s full of thoughts
cannot sell the time that’s bought
shadows of the man in me, no reflections from the sea
a rain drop falls down from the sky
it is a tear from a hollow eye
I walk the day in a florescent dim
work until I break a limb
I lay down to rest my bones
thinking of civilian homes
and so it goes, an injured me
until the light, I’ll wait, I’ll see..
