Happy Father’s Day

Being a father is a choice. I tell my children, I want them to be better than me, I want them to be something more and something unique.

Being a father is an opportunity to create a fork in a road where the past is left behind and the future is what you choose to make of it.

The moment I met my son Will, I didn’t realize or know that I would not know my past life from that day forward. All of my children have helped me evolve. I’ve changed and I’ve wanted to be better for them and I am better because of them.

They treat me with kindness, and it feels like Father’s Day most days. For them I am thankful and for them I appreciate the opportunity to be here with them. They give me the gift of allowing me to be their dad.

My boys are my tribe!

A few thoughts below cultivated from others .. for today, Father’s Day.

Father’s Day: Honoring Our Pillars of Strength

Father’s Day is a time to express our gratitude and love for the incredible fathers who shape our lives. These unsung heroes may not wear capes, but their impact is immeasurable. Here are some heartfelt ways to celebrate Father’s Day:

  1. A Grateful Heart: Take a moment to reflect on the lessons your dad has taught you. Whether it’s fixing a bike, cooking a meal, or offering sage advice, these moments are priceless. Share your appreciation with a simple message: “Dad, your wisdom and love have shaped me in ways I can’t express. Happy Father’s Day!”
  2. Quality Time: Spend time together doing something he enjoys. Whether it’s fishing, playing chess, or watching a favorite movie, these shared moments create lasting memories. Capture the essence in a post: “Cherishing this Father’s Day with laughter, stories, and shared moments. Thanks, Dad!”
  3. Handwritten Notes: Write a heartfelt note expressing your feelings. Reminisce about childhood memories, inside jokes, and the little things that make your dad special. For example: “Dear Dad, your strength, kindness, and unwavering support mean the world to me. Happy Father’s Day!”
  4. Acts of Kindness: Perform small acts of kindness throughout the day. Make his favorite breakfast, tidy up the garage, or surprise him with a homemade treat. Share the love: “Today, I’m returning the favor. Happy Father’s Day, Dad!”
  5. Legacy of Love: Reflect on the legacy your dad is creating. His love, sacrifices, and guidance ripple through generations. Acknowledge it: “Dad, your love is a legacy that will forever shape our family. Happy Father’s Day!”
