It’s the Military Stupid

If you leave here only reading the first part of this post, I’ll be happy.

I want you to wrap your head around this. The people running the government, specifically the military, want to change the name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War. The cost isn’t in the millions. It’s in the billions. Something like 2 Billion+ dollars.

Meanwhile, these same people refuse to invest any money, literally zero dollars, in the advancement of public-facing web and media services for the warfighters and the American people. The Defense Media Activity is going to see a decrease in funding and the web program is on life support.

The Department of Do-Somethings is in a frenzy. Changing the name and reversing over 30 years of progress is stupid. What’s worse? No checks and balances exist. Nothing, not even journalism, holds these people accountable.

As we face global threats and unprecedented ways to harm our great nation, we are distracted by idiots with a desire for power and prestige.

We wouldn’t need “warrior anything” if we worked towards peace. But we can’t have peace if we advance threats of war.

We are always on the edge of another serious event that can hurt us as a nation. Instead of building us up, we are being divided.

The policies, standards, and guidance being delivered to our warfighters will drive and are currently DRIVING cultural changes. These aren’t moving us forward. They are dragging us back to something that can no longer exist.

Yesterday is gone. Even if we try to bring it back, it will never be the same. But apparently, we can still bring “stupid” into the military.

I care deeply about our men and women serving in our armed forces. It pains me to see what they are going through. They don’t know what is coming next and feel gross instability. For those not tracking “bad for the troops.”

If we are going to bring anything to the department, it should be intelligent and mindful leadership. Leaders who see past an action to understand mass effects. Leaders who take time to think. Leaders who show caring and competence.

If we continue this path, it weakens our ability to defend our nation.

It weakens our ability to show strength.

It weakens our culture, and it makes the military less attractive to our children.

If we don’t have people joining, the government will take action to fix that. In today’s world of individualism, unbound non-conforming warfighters will make us weaker.

So, the next time you see the Secretary of Idiocracy changing the signage on a building, you will know that this same individual doesn’t have stability regarding the people or technology to post the picture of him putting the sign up.

Smart, huh?

Ask why this is important.. ASK WHY.. !

  1. ”If we continue this path, it weakens our ability to defend our nation.”

that just might be their intention…

  2. Peace brings cooperation, mutual benefit and shared prosperity. Chaos, fear and conflict bring widening gaps between the haves and have nots and huge opportunities for profiteering.

The language and actions of the government tell you a lot about whether they’re working on behalf of the people or on behalf of their investors (donors).
