Follow the news any day now and we find major cities overrun and flooded with people coming from all over the world in search of a safe place to live. Regardless of our personal view on immigration, we simply need to review reality to understand what is happening in the US.
We really have no idea how many people are pouring in over our borders. The people that are here illegally didn’t wait their turn, they cut the line. For whatever the reason, they felt the need to come here. For the sake of this point illustrated, just adding some numbers and estimates. If we use 2021 numbers, it is estimated that our immigrant population grew to 47 million. That is roughly 14% of the total US population. Further, we can estimate based on Jan 22 numbers that about 10-12 million are illegal. Not counting beyond 2022, this is in my estimate a very high number.
We can say for sure; we have people literally pouring in daily. At the same time, we are putting the burden on cities and local economies to absorb all of these people. If we look at New York alone, it has become simply impossible for the city to take on all the people. On top of this, many cities are dealing with other issues that are causing widespread homelessness, poverty, and crime we haven’t seen in a very long time.
I’ve watched day after day, people fighting over small areas of land. Regional wars, wars of religion and war for reasons that are unexplainable. Over the past five years, it is estimated that the US government has spent over $8 trillion dollars on global conflict. All that money spent and the whole of the American population is NOT paying the bill. According to sourced data on Bing, it was estimated that 61% of US households paid no federal income tax in 2020. Now, if we factor in payroll tax, about 20% did NOT pay.
This doesn’t account for unaccounted for “Newmerickans.” The point here is whether we like it or not, the American people have a problem. In addition to the problem of immigrants pouring in, we are spending trillions of dollars beyond our leaky borders. We have millions of people that don’t pay taxes and we have millions of people that aren’t even able to pay taxes because we don’t account for them.
There are plenty of tax-oriented solutions that have been pitched over the years like “flat tax” as an example but even if we resolved the tax issue, we aren’t solving the underlying issue of poverty and there is no place for people to go.

Not only is there empty space in the country. There is empty space in commercial properties across the country. There are empty houses across the country.
I’d like to dive into some of these options over the course of the next few posts. The first option, I call “Newmericka.” I’ll get into some of the details next week but for now I’ll share the idea at a high level.
Wyoming is one of the least populated states in the US. We start by working with the state leadership and create a program for state tax rebates and federal funding. The funding that we would normally send for foreign aid would be reduced and moved towards the US “Newmericka” program.
The program would start up by building infrastructure, water capture and new solar based technologies. Tiny houses would be manufactured by RV companies funded through the program. There would be a startup accelerator for novel food growing initiatives like old shipping container growth farms.
Every person entering the new area gets staged citizenship and has to work towards building the area up.
