The politics aside, I am afraid for my children and for the world. It doesn’t matter the reason why people choose to do what they do but the outcomes matter. The human world is fighting in the same way it always has but the toys and weapons are stronger.
While social media has a strong focus on posting about all the alien races here on earth to save us, the world moves closer to destruction for all humankind. The earth will live on without us. We know this to be true, but can we survive ourselves? I remember the conversation about “Never Forget.” We have forgotten in one generation. We don’t remember day to day, week to week. Our records, our images, our writing persist but we forget somehow. We are overwhelmed with data and knowledge, and we forget.
We are giving our critical thinking away to the machine. We are becoming less. The tools that make things easier for us to accomplish our goals also make it more difficult to understand and learn with depth. What does this mean? It means that we are heading towards more abstraction.
We are thinking in a shallow way. Right and wrong, black and white have become much easier to qualify from our own perspective. I remember that our generation (Gen X) was supposed to advance our caring and connectedness. I am embarrassed for our generation. We want “all the things” but we don’t want to be responsible. We don’t want to remember, and we allow ourselves to hand over all our power to technology. For many, our children don’t trust our word over the machine. Most people today wouldn’t be able to survive if something terrible happens. They don’t have the skills, knowledge or practice.
We don’t think about this as we walk around literally buried in our phones.
Aren’t you afraid?
It isn’t all doom and gloom, right? From where I sit today, we are witnessing a new world order. Every major country including the United States is leaning toward and taking steps in building and becoming a monarchy. History is in our grasp but forgotten or ignored as we are consumed with media. Yes, and we will continue in this way until we wake up and everything we knew is gone.
In the US alone, we are seeing unprecedented and historic power shifts that have shredded the intention of the people we call founding fathers. Yes, and we are watching it unfold in slow motion with non-stop news and talking heads injecting intentional messaging to the public.
If they say it is true, it must be true.
If the messages and propaganda are consistent and we stay on the same course of becoming less thoughtful and less engaged and more distracted, what will we become? You can’t do anything about it because there is only one of you and you don’t matter. This is what the common thinking is but this is not true.
We have no idea on how we impact each other. We have no idea on how we impact the world. It could be one thing that is said that has a domino effect, we don’t know.
However, we know………….. I know that if we don’t change our behavior, we will be in trouble.
Yes, and the choice is yours as to what you do to help drive change that can turn this thing around.
What are you going to do?
