Forgotten but not Lost
In several posts recently I’ve written about ideas to handle immigration. A few days ago Periscope Films released old footage of films designed to explain historical events of the time. These were written and shared in the form of news reels.
Today, I am sharing these for a few reasons. The first film tells a story of New America, where the US figured out how to immigrate people and integrate them into society. Ironically, I wrote about this a few weeks ago and did NOT know this reel existed and I did NOT know the history. I also didn’t know they called it “New America.” I called it “Newmerika” (funny huh?)
The second film talks about the British rule of Palestine 1940 and the third talks about the history of Israel.
These films may be viewed as period based propaganda, however, the historical reference, the timing and information based on facts in my view stand on their own.
