Care to Action

Search for Meaning, Change, and Call to Action

Every leadership forum interaction, I have so much learning to take away and contemplate. I just finished the last Rising Leadership Forum session from this year. Everytime I go, I learn something new. It changes my life and my perspective. From this, I am inspired to share some thoughts.

It is very easy to slip into the world of distraction and lose focus on mindfulness. (Consider pushing play as you read)

The world draws our attention and pulls us away from what we believe is important.

  • Many of us say that we put family first but we give our time to our companies, to our business to our clients. We don’t make time for ourselves.
  • Many of us say that we want to be helpful and have purpose but we don’t act helpful or purposeful.
  • Many of us say that we want to be healthy but we don’t think about this as we go through our daily routine.
  • Many of us say that we want change but we don’t act on this and we become changed by reaction vs change by proaction.

You have to get beyond asking yourself “what do I want?”

You have to get beyond asking yourself about meaning and purpose.

You have to get beyond asking about what is important.

Human history is filled with writing of inspiration, motivation, suffering, hardship, pain and misery. It is filled with stories of life and death and it is also a result of many forgotten tuesdays.

Do you know what that means?

That which is so critically important to you today will mostly be forgotten. It within itself may end up in a positive result or negative for that matter BUT the action, the activity, the involvement will be forgotten.

We work so hard for something that is fleeting. The memories escape us, the moments that matter pass and we are back to the grind. Working on “the thing” that we think we need to do to accomplish “the thing” that will make us happy. It will bring us joy and purpose but in a few blinks, the years pass, your parents die, your kids leave, your children and grandchildren are caught in the distractions and they forget about their Tuesdays.

“Most of us don’t become what we can be because we can’t see it’s what we already are.” – Hammershlag

If we spend all our time thinking and saying what we are going to do, we don’t actually do the thing we said we want to do.

I am not talking about a “bucket list.” I am talking about living your life understanding that you have fear but pushing through these fears and have courage to do what you want to do in the moment. I am not talking about extreme things. I am talking about real things.

I want to spend more time with my kids but have too much work to do right now.

Someone has to make the money so that we can have the things we need. My kids need to go to school and I need retirement and we need to pay for the house and the cars.

At work, we need to transform but we can’t because that would mean I need to do something that would be really hard and dangerous. It is too risky. I have a reputation to maintain.

You have your own reasons and things right?

You want to start a business, or you haven’t spoken to someone you love for a very long time or you are really tired of being treated like garbage at work and you’d like to just stop.

Are you looking for a sign? If so, please let me help! If you are reading this message right now, you have been chosen. You, yes you have been chosen to take “care to action” meaning if you care about something then YOU are called to take action on that which you care about. Don’t wait, don’t delay, the universe is talking to you right now, you are getting this message at the right time.

This is the time, there is no other time, it is now.

Here it is, here is your sign.

Go on .. think for a moment, get yourself together and get going.

If you want to talk about it, you know where I am … Let’s go .. Push the Button.
