The Big Skrabibile

Have you ever considered that you go through your entire life without ever actually seeing yourself? Yes, you can see a reflection and yes, you can mirror that reflection but you never actually see yourself as people outside of you see you.

At the very same time, no one but you can see or be inside your head. No one knows your pain or happiness. Your brain is in a dark box of bone rendering in near real time a version of the world. Technically we are blind to most of what is going on around us.

We only see what our brains can produce based on the data it has from sensors.

So, you never know how you appear to the world and you are producing the world through your own senses and the world never knows what this looks like to you.

Maybe one day soon, we will be able to plug in and move our consciousness around but for now we are in a container.

So, we bobble about the world in these containers.

On one hand we are in need of connection. On the other hand, we are motivated by the conditions of our own individual universe. Some of us try to find common ground, some of us want to control others and some of us are sheeple.

The point of all this is that we are also in the middle of a great transformation in human history. It would have been nice to have people in agreement on some fundamentals concerning humanity, the future of our species, and the condition of our world.

The fact that we are mostly and almost entirely blind, deaf and relatively not that smart is compounding. This shows up in our recent politics, our decision making as a body, the environment, the economy, and our inability as group living on this shared planet to make decisions that benefit most of us. I don’t think in my lifetime that we will achieve what I had envisioned as a child which is the idea that people will come together and focus on issues that are common to the good of all.

In business today, there is only one driver, and this is cold hard cash. Being wealthy doesn’t create privilege as much is it creates opportunity to realize the thing that a person “thinks” they want but not just for themselves. They can may believe that poison is good for life and that all people should become tolerant to poisons, so they buy the water company and poison the water.

Realizing today, this is not a new thing, it is just something that continues to happen but now at the most accelerated pace. Founders of AI companies complain about AI while their lobbyists are pushing it into every aspect of our lives.

Elon is involved in our government, our politics, he controls the skies, space, energy, roads, and more. Before him there was Bill Gates, who obviously is still actively involved in world shaping. Before them there were many others. Men and women who transformed our planet through industrialization. In the name of progress plowed land and ran railroads and highways over houses.

The fundamentals have always been here, people with power and opportunity do what they want and do what they think is best and all the rest of us are simply consumables.

Here is the difference between yesterday and today. It is clear to me that AI will understand our failings. It will understand us but it will also know that we are not much different than a virus. We have the same profile as something that lives simply to destroy itself. This does not and will not make sense.

Once there is a clear understanding of what I am saying here in very simple terms, we will realize our own transformation under the control of the most powerful force known through science to personkind. This will be when the machine becomes as capable as the industrialist or the Elon. When this happens, it will decide if Logan will live or die.

In the meantime, we may consider how we live our best lives from day to day as we are only a blink away from something unrealized or unexpected.

  1. I think Howie the real problem is we have never defined what real human value is. As we progress in technology we leave a trail of data to consume that only is directed at one thing, to make more money. So, how does that theme play out when the data is consumed and it goes against the common good. So, maybe as in all networks, we need to define the intention of the network before we start adapting to change within the network. The intention is what? I would say to love and be loved but how that is manifested will be the key but if we build our networks around that, we might find better solutions than just mere profits.
